JK2 Construction receives Eagle Award for Del Webb Gatehouse and Entry Hardscape

JK2 Construction’s mission is to deliver exceptional service for exceptional clients, done by exceptional people. For four decades, the company has done just that, working on some of the area’s largest and most recognizable projects.

The Apopka general contractor has once again been recognized for that excellence, this time with a top industry award. JK2 Construction received an Eagle Award from the Central Florida Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors for its work on the unique features of the Del Webb Gatehouse and Entry Hardscape.

“We’re incredibly proud of the reputation we’ve built in Central Florida and the construction industry,” said Rick Amundson, President and CEO of JK2 Construction. “We’ve had the privilege of working on some monumental projects, but we’ve also had the privilege of working on projects that provide an attractive and safe entry into their community. We’re honored that we were able to do that with this project while living up to our mission.”

The Eagle Awards are presented yearly and celebrate outstanding projects in the construction industry.

JK2 Construction won in the residential/multifamily category for its work on the 55+ Del Webb community. JK2 Construction’s efforts revolved around the first thing people see when they approach the community—the gatehouse, massive waterfall feature and entry hardscape. This welcoming drive combines functional elements, such as vehicle entry gates with access control, with beautiful features, including a more than 3,000-square-foot, two-tier fountain. The project included electrical on site and incorporated many stone and wood design elements to add to the striking and impressive look.

The latest recognition brings JK2 Construction’s Eagle Awards to a total of 10 awards over the past eight years. The company has also routinely been recognized for its growth, including recently by placing on the Orlando Business Journal’s list of the top privately held companies.

The JK2 Construction team received the award Saturday, October 26, at the Hilton Orlando.
