CASE STUDY:
Del Webb Oasis Clubhouse and Amenities
Scope:
The Del Webb Oasis project aimed to deliver an exceptional 55+ living experience, blending luxurious resort-style amenities with the excitement of living just minutes from Orlando’s world-renowned attractions. The scope of the project involved the design and construction of a more than 12,000 sq. ft. clubhouse featuring a grand breezeway, fitness center, movement studio, arts and crafts room, and multiple lounges. Recreational facilities were integral to the vision, including a resort-style zero-entry pool with private cabanas, an outdoor spa, sports courts for tennis and pickleball, and an outdoor fire pit. Additionally, the development sought to create a vibrant community atmosphere with clubs, social events, and activities tailored to active adults.
Challenges:
One of the primary challenges was designing amenities that balance relaxation and activity, catering to the diverse preferences of the 55+ demographic. Creating a space that naturally facilitated social interactions while accommodating varied interests was another key consideration. Environmental sustainability was also a priority, requiring thoughtful planning to preserve the natural beauty of the area and implement eco-friendly construction practices. Finally, while the community’s proximity to Orlando attractions was a significant selling point, maintaining a serene, residential atmosphere amid the bustle of a tourist hub required strategic design and layout.
